Mary Frances McComb was born to Clark and Annie McComb on April 14, 1924 in College Springs Iowa.

Mary married Bill Horning in 1945 and they moved to Colorado in 1953. Bill and Mary returned to Clarinda Iowa to enjoy a slower pace in retirement in 1983. Mary retired from Martin Marietta after 22 years as a telephone operator. Together they enjoyed golf, family, friends and a daily game of cribbage.

Bill proceeded Mary in death in 2002. Mary returned to Colorado in 2006.

Family include daughter Jyl and son-in-law Mark Nieto of Westminster Colorado.

Granddaughter Erin Schmitz, Erin’s husband Jeremy and great-granddaughters Marlee, Peyton and Emmery Schmitz of Bismarck North Dakota.

Granddaughter Niki Morgan , Niki’s husband Michael Shields and great-granddaughter Alli Nieto and great-grandson Mason Morgan of Denver.

Mary’s youngest brother, Billy, resides in Clarinda Iowa with wife Alice Ann.

Older brother Paul McComb (Rhoda) proceeds Mary in death as does her younger brother Don (Marianne).

Mary has numerous family members and friends, past and present, that she loved deeply. Fond memories were always kept close to her heart.

Mary’s final resting place will be beside her husband in Clarinda Iowa. A memorial service will be held in early spring.
